Malware Found in CamScanner Android App With 100+ Million Users


CamScanner- Android App With 100M+ Downloads Found Loaded With "Trojan Malware"

As reported by the Kaspersky Daily, Researchers at Kaspersky have discovered Trojan Malware in CamScanner- a phone-based PDF creator application that includes OCR (optical character recognition) and has more than 100 million downloads in Google Play. 
However, the malicious module doesn't actually reside in the executive code of CamScanner itself; instead, it is coded as a part of a 3rd-party advertising library that recently was introduced in the PDF creator app.
A Trojan-Dropper is a malware strain that can be used by developers to install malicious codes on infected devices. The module, called “Trojan-Dropper.AndroidOS.Necro.n” by the researchers, frequently downloaded encrypted code from a server, then decrypted and executed it on infected devices.
As per the Researchers, "It can be assumed that the reason why this malware was added was the app developers' partnership with an unscrupulous advertiser,
If you were still using Camscanner application, you have to uninstall it immediately. Google removed the app from the Play Store following the report, 
While the developers might have removed the malware, the researchers warn that some versions of the app might still include the malware. continuing old applications which were loaded in your smartphones with this Malicious Malware which has adviced to uninstall immediately.
