World of Warcraft Overwatch skins come with BlizzCon 2019 ticket

In a new collaboration between games, Blizzard announced that fans that purchase the 2019 BlizzCon Virtual Ticket will receive a unique cosmetic in-game reward among others. As usual, there is commemorative loot for games like Diablo III, StarCraft II, Heroes of the Storm, and Hearthstone. However, this year’s event will feature two Overwatch skins with a World of Warcraft theme. Genji and Symmetra will receive a skin for Illidan and Tyrande respectively.

BlizzCon 2019 Virtual Ticket

For fans that are unable to make it to BlizzCon in person, they will be able to purchase a virtual ticket. Fans that purchase this will be able to take part in live coverage of the events through a live stream. This consists of an all-access channel with developer interviews, panel coverage, and musical festivities. There will also be a variety of in-game digital cosmetic rewards provided with the $49.99 price tag.

While not all of them have been revealed yet, there are a few in-game rewards for every Blizzard game. These include a pair of wings for Diablo III along with a BlizzCon 2019 Hearthstone card back and unannounced Golden Legendary card. There will be StarCraft II Brood War-era portraits and skins for the Battlecruiser, Ultralisk, and Carrier units. In addition, fans of Heroes of the Storm will receive a commemorative BlizzCon spray, portrait, and Celestial Deepcrawler mount.

World of Warcraft and Overwatch

With the recent increase in popularity through the release of World of Warcraft Classic, there will also be skins for WoW. This includes a murloc-ified faction leader for the Alliance and Horde with Finduin and Gillvanas. A Wendigo Woolies transmog outfit will also come attached.

The 2019 iteration of BlizzCon will take place between Nov. 1 and 3 at the Anaheim Convention Center. Some of the cosmetic rewards will be available to players before the event actually begins. Is the $50 price worth it if one buys it purely for the in-game rewards? Let us know what you think.

SK Gaming releases Pirean from LEC roster

German esports organization SK Gaming announced its first roster change after placing 7th in the 2019 League of Legends European Championship Summer Split. The team was one spot away from making it to playoffs, despite having the same win-loss ratio as Rogue and Team Vitality. Former SK Gaming mid laner Choi “Pirean” Jun-sik will not continue with the organization on to the 2020 Spring Split.

Pirean’s departure

“As some of you already know (I’m) no longer contracted with SK Gaming, currently looking for team for 2020. (Direct messages) open or contact: pirean@naver.com,” wrote Choi “Pirean” Jun-sik on social media after being released.

Pirean is a Korean League of Legends player who started competing in 2016. He first joined Team Impulse as a challenger player but left after Riot Games banned the team for not having proper contracts in place. Pirean left to Phoenix1 with fellow teammates Brandon “Mash” Phan and Yu “Gate” Jia-Jun. Later, he had a short stint on Team EnVyUs.

He later returned to Phoenix 1, until transitioning to a role on SK Telecom T1 as a substitute in early 2018. Unfortunately, the Korean powerhouse team only managed a 7th place finish during 2018’s LCK Summer Split, and his contract was not renewed. Since then, he played under SK Gaming, starting with the 2019 LEC Spring Split. The team placed 6th during the Spring Split but lost to Splyce in the playoffs to place 5 – 6.

During the 2019 LEC Summer Split, SK Gaming first moved Toni “Sacre” Sabali? to the main roster from academy team SK Gaming Prime. Sacre replaced Jorge “Werlyb” Casanovas, who was demoted to the academy team. Janik “Jenax” Bartels was also later promoted from SK Gaming Prime in August. The German organization took a chance with Pirean because of his former role on the three-time World Championship organization. However, Pirean did not perform up to expectations. Sacre and Jenax’s contracts have been extended through 2020, but Pirean will have to find a new home.
