Hi-Rez teasing a new champion for Paladins coming soon

Paladins is gearing up to bring another champion to the arena. The official Paladins Twitter account posted a cryptic teaser earlier today, hinting at the new champion’s otherworldly origins. While the teaser gives basically no concrete information, the Paladins community is running wild with speculation. The image in the teaser indicates the new champion may have a lore connection with champions Drogoz, Seris, and Dredge. The Paladins community has already put together some interesting theories on Reddit.

There have been multiple datamining leaks indicating the Evil Mojo are working on at least a couple of new Paladins champions. We have our eye for Raum – working title – who has had a lot of information leaked already. Tread lightly, as there are a lot of potential spoilers in the leak. The champion that eventually releases could be completely different, too. The only thing we can say with almost complete certainty is that the new Paladins champion won’t be a support. The odds of another healer coming out so soon after Io are basically zero.

We anticipate the mysterious new Paladins champion will drop sometime before Halloween. The tournament season starts almost immediately after, with Paladins Console Wars 2019 on Nov 3. It’s unlikely Hi-Rez would drop a new champion halfway through championships. It is just as unlikely they will wait until the end of the season on Nov 19, considering that they have already started with the teasers.

Buried Treasure Double XP weekend

In other news, Paladins is currently holding a mini-event called Buried Treasure. Over the weekend of Oct 4 through 6, players will earn double the Battle Pass XP for their games. The first win you score each day will secure some additional rewards as well. Those come in the form of event-limited cosmetics and bonus currency.

CR4ZY acquire SHiPZ, move emi onto CSGO roster

German esports organization CR4ZY announced it has acquired Georgi “SHiPZ” Grigorov from Windigo Gaming for its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster. The team will also move Luka “emi” Vukovi? to a playing role from his previous position as coach and analyst. These two roster changes are to fill in the spots currently vacant on the roster after G2 Esports signed former CR4ZY players Nemanja “nexa” Isakovi? and Nemanja “huNter-” Kova?.

Georgi “SHiPZ” Grigorov

With the absence of their star players, CR4ZY has acquired former Windigo Gaming player SHiPZ. Georgi “SHiPZ” Grigorov is a professional Bulgarian CSGO player who started competing in 2017. He played under BPro Gaming and Outlaws on a trial basis. After being released by Outlaws, the roster was signed by Windigo Gaming. While SHiPZ was with the Ukrainian organization, the team went on to 1st place finishes at Season 1 and 2 of the Esports Balkan league.

It also placed 1st at Season 8 of the ESL Southeast Europe Championship. The Windigo Gaming roster placed 3 – 4th at 2018’s Copenhagen Games, 2nd at Season 1 of the United Masters League, and 1st at 2019’s Moche XL Esports event. However, the most iconic achievement for Windigo Gaming was 1st place at 2018’s World Electronic Sports Games, where the team took home $500,000. SHiPZ played for the organization for nearly two years before he was benched.

CR4ZY CEO Antonio Meic had previously said in an interview that huNter was a key player on their roster and that they would not let go of him. However, it was later revealed that G2 Esports was able to acquire both players at no cost due to problems with their contracts. This was seemingly confirmed by a tweet on the organization’s social media. It’s unfortunate for the CR4ZY organization. Meic previously stated that he had gotten offers between €75,000 and €250,000 for the player himself.

The current CR4ZY roster consists of Nestor “LETN1” Tani?, Rokas “EspiranTo” Milasauskas, Otto “ottoNd” Sihvo, Luka “emi” Vukovi?, and Georgi “SHiPZ” Grigorov. The former Grayhound Gaming coach Neil “NeiL_M” Murphy will transition to the vacant coaching role. CR4ZY is currently competing in Europe’s Season 32 of the ESEA Premier Division. The team will play their next event at DreamHack Open Rotterdam. Will CR4ZY be able to repeat their previous success without huNter and nexa on the roster? Let us know what you think, and keep up with Daily Esports for all of your CSGO coverage.
