The new Apex Legends season is upon us. The Season 3 Battle Pass is packed with new content, and that content itself is packed with nerdy references. Respawn has never shied away from referencing pop culture and other games in Apex Legends, but Meltdown is arguably more indulgent than previous seasons.
Some of our favorite examples include the Rose-Colored Legends loading screen. It captures a moment of the Season 3 launch trailer showing Gibraltar strafing an enemy squad inside a trench. As some Apex Legends players were quick to notice, the scene is most likely inspired by a memorable moment in the 2014 sci-fi action film Edge of Tomorrow. Rose is notably the middle name of one of the film’s two protagonists, portrayed by Emily Blunt.
Some of the other Apex Legends pop culture references are less current. The Send in the Clowns loading screen is a reference to Stephen Sondheim’s 1973 song of the same name. The Hot Head banner frame for Mirage, shown above, looks like a love letter to the Hollywood of some decades ago.
Speaking of Mirage, our favorite Apex Legends pop culture reference in the new content is one of his skins. As players have repeatedly pointed out, Mirage looks a lot like Guy Fieri on his badge. The similarity was definitely not lost on Respawn either. Whether you like that or not, the new Fired Up Mirage skin is taking you to Flavortown.
Everything that comes out of Crypto’s mouth is meta
Unlike all the references pointing to the world outside the game, new legend Crypto looks inward. He is constantly quipping meta references about Apex Legends and its lore. A good example is him saying, “I am here to break the game.” Not just bragging here, Crypto is stating his intent to get to the bottom of the big Apex Games conspiracy for his own personal reasons. More likely than not, he is also referencing his own role in shaking up the gameplay meta. Much like Wattson in Season 2, Crypto will likely have a strong impact on the Apex meta with his unconventional, Rainbow Six Siege-esque skill set.
Crypto’s quips are full of little references, double meanings, and puns like that. One of his finisher lines is, “I mean this with respect — you’re a hack.” Hackers execute hacks, get it? Many of his quips also express the background he shares with Wraith in the Apex Legends lore. Some of his one-liners parallel hers; for example, they both love to brag about how much they know. Put next to each other, some of their quips could even form a tense and confrontational dialogue.

Setelah penantian hampir 1 dekade lamanya, akhirnya seri kedua The Last of Us akan segera meluncur pada tahun depan. Dengan waktu development sangat matang dibalik para talenta dingin Naughty Dog, The Last of Us Part 2 ini terlihat punya banyak sekali peningkatan yang menakjubkan.
Selain visual menawan dan gameplay yang jauh lebih fluid, Naughty Dog juga ingin menyuguhkan cerita super menarik didalamnya. Berbicara pada 3D Juegos, sang Creative Director – Neil Druckman ingin agar semua pemain bisa menikmati game tersebut, terlepas dari para gamer yang memang handal, maupun yang kurang jago sekalipun.
Untuk mewujudkan hal tersebut, Naughty Dog akan menyematkan berbagai opsi tingkat kesulitan yang bervariasi, mulai dari yang termudah hingga yang tersulit. “Kami akan memberikan banyak pilihan, kami tahu bahwa tak semua orang punya kemampuan yang sama, penglihatan yang sama, ataupun pendengaran yang sama, kami ingin memastikan semuanya dapat menikmati cerita yang tersaji”, ujar Druckmann.
The Last of Us Part 2 sendiri rencananya akan rilis pada tanggal 21 Februari 2020 mendatang, eksklusif untuk PlayStation 4 saja.

CSGO changes loot boxes to X-ray scanner in France to bypass laws
With a new update only for players in France, Valve has changed how cases work in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO). This update allows players to look inside loot boxes before opening. Many speculate this is most likely in place to bypass a new law regulating loot boxes in France.

CS:GO players in France will now have restrictions placed on them because of their country’s laws. Instead of opening the loot boxes like normal with a case and a key, players will have to use a special tool. The X-ray scanner allows users to reveal the cosmetic item inside of any skin container. There isn’t an item-spinning animation like a slot machine anymore and players don’t have to buy a key beforehand.
Once players use the X-ray scanner to scan a skin container and reveal the item inside, they have to claim it before scanning another container. One reason for this restriction is to prevent players from abusing the tool. They could potentially scan cases and then sell off the cases that don’t have good skins. However, this will also force players to purchase the skin even if it isn’t worth it. In the video shown above, the content creator is required to shell out the price of a key for a 3 cent skin so that he can continue to scan other loot boxes.
French CSGO restrictions
Another rule applied to players in the France region is they cannot buy skin containers anymore on the Steam Community Market. However, if they get a container as a drop in-game, one can still sell it. Some easily thought of bypasses to this rule include trading other players.
Players in other regions can try out this update by changing their Steam region to France and opening CSGO. However, players from countries like the Netherlands and Belgium do not yet have the option to scan their cases. Because of laws also banning loot boxes, players from those regions simply cannot open any skin containers.
