Huawei is building its own Google Maps

Huawei is building its own maps called "Map Kit".

Chinese Tech Giant Huawei officially confirmed that the company is developing its own mapping service called "Map Kit" to reduce its dependence on Google services after the US ban.
As China Daily reports, Map Kit The service, which will be available in 150 countries and regions, will be connected to local mapping services. It’ll also support 40 different languages. Other rumored features include real-time traffic conditions, complex navigation capabilities, and augmented reality mapping.
Back in May, Google banned Huawei from using its Android OS, and after the Chinese manufacturer ended up on the US existence list, Huawei has developed its own operating system called HarmonyOS, a kind of homemade Fuchsia that could ultimately replace Android on its smartphones, the company can deploy "HarmonyOS" at any time. Until then, Huawei will continue to support Android. In connection with these matters, it seems that it is in this same perspective that the Chinese giant, Huawei has introduced Map Kit, an alternative to Google Maps.
Huawei mentioned Map Kit back at its developer conference last week. It is one of its planned Huawei Mobile Services (HMS). The others include Site Kit, Location Kit, Drive Kit, and Scan Kit e.t.c. the Map Kit is not an application itself. Rather, it is a mapping tool available for developers to create their own GPS applications.
According to Android Authority, Russia's Internet and mapping service provider Yandex and Booking Holding, based in the United States, are among the first partners interested in Huawei's mapping services.
